Two Sizes for All Conductor Types
Quickly and easily connect all conductor types of different cross sections using two-, three-, and five-wire terminal blocks. The new connectors accommodate fine-stranded conductors from 0.14 to 4 mm2, as well as solid and stranded conductors from 0.14 to 4 mm2. With the 6 mm2 variant, you can connect all conductor types – with cross sections from 0.5 to 6 mm2
Extremely Easy to Use
You can open WAGO’s splicing connectors easily and quickly. Opening the levers on the 221 Series requires little effort. This means you can connect conductors quickly – and without any tools! While connecting the conductor, recessed handles on the sides ensure an easy, secure grip on the connector.
Two Test Slots
With the new 221 Series Splicing Connectors, you can now test the voltage from both sides – even when installed. The connectors have two test slots right where the WAGO imprint appears: one in the conductor entry direction and one on the opposite side. This accessibility provides extremely convenient testing conditions, even after installation, within a wide range of applications. Every connector variant also provides a secure contact for all standard test probes.
The 221 Series Conquers the Distribution Cabinet
Mounting carriers are available for every 221 Series Splicing Connector – whether it's the two-, three- or five-wire model. They can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Secure the carrier by snapping it onto the DIN-rail, or with screws on smooth surfaces. The flexible mounting clamps simplify both connector insertion and removal. Conductors can be conveniently connected and removed before or after inserting a connector into the carrier. One test slot is always accessible, ensuring compliance with VDE standards.
Inline Connection of Installation Lines
As a universal connection technology, the 221 Series Inline Splicing Connector’s compact dimensions not only improve current installations, the small footprint also allows for a wide variety of new applications, such as the inline connection of installation lines in junction boxes (e.g., for light connection in suspended ceilings).
Simple Extension of Lines
Not life-prolonging but line-extending: The 221 Series Inline Splicing Connector connects all types of conductors from 0.2 to 4 mm² simply, quickly and safely in the inline connection direction. This makes it ideal for flying leads, for example when it comes to speaker wiring.
Multiple Poles and Fixed-Position Installation via Adapter
Whether in devices or on DIN-rails – the adapters for the 221 Series Inline Splicing Connector provide completely modular mounting. Users get the flexibility of having five fixed-position poles in one adapter – whether it’s with or without strain relief, on DIN-rails with a snap-in mounting foot, for screw mounting, adhesive mounting, tie-on mounting or suspended mounting.
Perfect for Test Setups
Pull the lever up, insert a conductor and push the lever back down! The slim 221 Series Inline Splicing Connector is a universal tool that's ideal for lab and test setups or production test stands – and does not require the use of any tools while providing visible confirmation of conductor contact. Disconnecting conductors is just as quick and easy: raise the lever, remove the conductor, lower the lever.
Simple DIN-Rail Mounting
Whether it's DIN-35 or DIN-15 rail – in the appropriate adapter, the 221 Series Inline Splicing Connectors can be easily snapped or screwed onto both DIN-rails, for example in junction boxes, for distribution expansion or for other standard connections and in DIN-rail mount equipment.
Integrated Strain Relief
Reducing pull-out forces on conductors – that's what the mounting adapters for the 221 Series Inline Splicing Connector with integrated strain relief make possible. They are ready for use wherever cables need to be secured against pull-out forces and movement – whether as a preventive measure or in unexpected situations.
